I want to talk about my proven method of combating powdery mildew on gooseberries and currants.

I take a liter jar of fresh mullein (if the case with the disease of the berry berries is already quite neglected, then this kind of good can be taken even more by eye), I dilute it in a bucket of water, mix thoroughly and filter it well (yes, I’ll have to put up with the smell, but I won’t have the mesh gets clogged, otherwise you will be tormented by cleaning it later).
I pour the solution directly over the bushes, wetting all the leaves well. If one time is not enough, then a week later I repeat the procedure. And the plants come to life!

For example, on currants and gooseberries first appear white, and then darkening spots. The development of the disease is promoted not only by hot weather, but also by excessive application of nitrogen fertilizers. The fungus that causes the disease hibernates on plant debris, so the first and necessary measure is to harvest them.

I burn the plant remains. In spring, I cut the affected ends of shoots on gooseberry and currant. I feed with phosphorus and organic fertilizers. Spray once in 2-3 year with nitrophene (2%) or ferrous sulfate solution (3-5%).

Almost every gardener faced a problem like powdery mildew. I used to treat plants with her standardly - soap-soda solution.

Now I use a more effective tool - horse or cow dung. Pour a ladle of liquid manure with 3 buckets of water and let it brew for 3 days. Then I carefully filter the infusion so as not to clog the sprayer, and process the affected branches and bushes. Spraying spend 2-3 times with an interval of 9-10 days. Bacteria living in manure destroy powdery mildew, and it no longer appears.

With powdery dew on a rose I struggle with the help of a semigenerous colitis (yellow ovine). Fill 2 kg of crushed stems and leaves with mote 5 l of water, I insist two days, and then 3 times a day for two days I spray this solution with a pink bush.

And from the weeding of the rose garden, I'm saving myself by mulching: I get rid of the weeds under the rose bush once in May, then I fall asleep on the ground around a small layer of husks from seeds (2-3 cm) and immediately water to prevent the wind from blowing mulch around the yard. At the end of July I renew the mulch layer.

Powdery mildew we recognize by a greyish-white coating and characteristic dark brown balls on the surface of leaves and young stems.

Over time, the raid becomes dense. Strongly affected parts of plants cease to grow, become black and die.

The infection begins with the leaves located closer to the ground and gradually spreads to the entire plant.
Immediately, without fail (!), Treat fungicides that are prone to mildew disease (phlox, aquilegia, lupine, delphinium, vasilist). Among modern fungicides, Bayleton, Gamair, Raek, Topaz, Topsin, and baseazole are the most effective.

It is only considered that the disease attacks closer to the fall. In fact, at this time it just becomes obvious - there are famous spots of mealy plaque.
Infection is present (and develops!) The entire period of vegetation. It is not necessary to think that it is easy to cope with folk remedies. However, if there are forces and the ability to spray plants all summer once a week with soma, manure, ash or soda ash, will be only happy with such constant top dressing, although hay and manure (that is, excess nitrogen) at the end of summer can adversely affect the winter hardiness of plants. About treatment with milk whey I can only say that 2-3 spraying will not save plants.

Once I myself used colloidal sulfur from powdery mildew in a garden-garden. She helped not bad, but left the stains on the leaves (it can be sprayed or simply planted at an air temperature of + 18 degrees). In recent years I use Skor with the obligatory condition - 2-3 treatment with an interval of 1-2 weeks. In the salo (processed gooseberry bushes), Rajek proved to be quite good as well.

How often on quite healthy bushes and trees there is an unpleasant whitish coating. This powdery mildew is a disease that we and our neighbors begin to struggle with as soon as we notice its first signs.
If warm wet days stand, on the leaves of apple, currant, gooseberries, whitish spots appear with enviable constancy. Leaves with such formations are cut off, damaged parts of plants are cut off. We prepare the infusion of the overgrown hay (1 kg of hay pour 3 l of water for 4 h) and spray the bushes and trees. Powdery mildew after such processing disappears almost completely. And most importantly, the method is cheap and without the use of chemicals!

You need to carefully monitor the plants and not miss the first signs of the disease - it manifests itself in the form of a white coating on the upper side of the leaves.
As soon as they noticed this, sick leaves should be cut off and burned, and plants for prevention should be sprinkled with freshly bred Mullein or marigolds.
The disease spreads quickly to cool and cloudy weather. As soon as the air temperature rises above 18-20 ° C, the development of powdery mildew ceases.

      • infusion of marigolds
Blossoming plants grind and fill 0,5 buckets, pour warm water. Insist 2 days and strain, add 40 g household soap.
      • Mullein
Manure pour water (1: 3) and insist 3-4 days. Dilute with water (3 parts), strain and spray the plants.
If these funds do not help, you can apply chemical drugs:
      * 1% solution of Bordeaux liquid;
      * 0,5% solution of soda ash with soap.

Powdery mildew and downy mildew are known to every summer resident: the affected leaves of the plants are covered with a clearly visible white coating on the upper or lower sides of the leaf. Then dark spots begin to appear on them - necrosis, and the plant weakens and dies due to lack of nutrition. The fungus causes the disease. And fungi love heat and moisture. Therefore, it is often easier to prevent the appearance of powdery and downy mildew than to cure it later.
Rule number 1: do not allow waterlogging. This is especially true for greenhouses and greenhouses - ventilation is mandatory.
Rule N "2: observe the irrigation regime. Watering of any plants should be carried out only under the root and strictly according to the norm.
Rule number 3: clear the site. Spores of mushrooms hibernate in leaf fall, so at the end of the summer season, all litter should be collected and burned.
However, it happens that, with all the rules, the weather presents surprises with frequent rains and heat, creating ideal conditions for the fungus. In this case, as a preventive measure, plants must be treated with a solution of iodine or manganese (1: 10). But I do not recommend using industrial fungicides. First, the extra "chemistry" on the site is useless. And secondly, not only pathogens of powdery mildew become "accustomed" to poison with time, but the pathogens of other fungal diseases also become more stable.

My mother-in-law once taught me how to deal with mealy bloom on the leaves of currants and gooseberries. True, these drugs are effective only at the initial stage of the spread of the disease. For spraying in 10 l water dilute 1 L serum. Processing I do in dry weather at least 3-x times with an interval of 3 days. The following recipe is also effective: in 4 l of water I dissolve 1 st.l. baking soda and 0,5 tsp. liquid soap. Spray 2-3 times with an interval of 6-7 days.

To get rid of such trouble, as mealy dew, it is possible thanks to ordinary milk. To do this, you need a fat drink 2,5%. 1 l of milk should be mixed with 9 l of water. Prepare the mixture immediately before use. If spraying is done for prophylaxis, it is enough to do this 1 once a month. Process already diseased plants should be 1 times in 7 days before the complete cure.
Milk can also be added to Bordeaux liquid so that it stays on plants longer. The optimal ratio of milk to drug is 1:10.
And a few drops of milk, added to the water for watering geraniums, will provide the plant with a longer and lush bloom. Since the amount of milk is small in all cases, I consider all these methods of plant treatment to be not too expensive.

With the approach of heat, the overwintering spores begin to actively scatter and damage the plants. And the essence of serum treatment is the following: yeast and other microorganisms that are contained in the serum, displace harmful fungi.
This method is also effective; sprinkle in the early spring (before bud budding) bushes and soil beneath them with copper sulfate (80 g per 10 L of water).

From powdery mildew on gooseberries, phlox and other garden plants I get rid of using whey. In the spring, I put the jars on the windowsill and keep them in the sun for a few days (the longer the better, so that the liquid turns out to be vigorous).
I do not breed anything, and as soon as the first young leaves begin to unfold, I fill the sprayer with serum and treat the diseased plants. I repeat 2-3 times - in 10 days.

Pouring boiling water is one of the popular methods that will not completely rid the garden of pests and diseases, but reduce their number. Recommended water temperature - + 60 ... + 70 degrees. If the strawberry plantation is severely affected by a tick, after harvesting, be sure to mow the leaves, remove them from the beds, feed the bushes with mineral fertilizers and water them well.

In the early spring before the beginning of vegetation, many gardeners against powdery mildew water the bushes of currants and gooseberries with boiling water. The same method I use on strawberry plantings in the fight against mites. I pour hot water (+ 65 degrees) from the watering can into the middle of the bushes - according to 0,5 l per plant.

If the weather is wet and warm for a long time, powdery mildew may appear on the rose - the queen of flowers. Signs of the disease are easy to notice - powdery spots appear on the plant. The leaves and shoots are deformed, the leaves begin to fall off, and the rose slows down its growth. From powdery mildew, the plant will save spraying with a copper-soap solution. You need to pour a 10-liter bucket of water, pour 10 g of copper sulphate and 100 g of laundry soap there. Mix everything well and spray the roses. You can also spray with fungicide.
And roses are often sick with black spots. At the same time, brown spots appear on the leaves of the plant. It is important to rob all the affected leaves and destroy them, it is better to burn them. In addition, it is necessary to treat the plant and the earth around the fungicide.

In summer, the plants in the garden were pained with powdery mildew and botrytis. Is it possible to prevent these fungal diseases?
Olga Knorina, city of Volozhin, Minsk region.
Only weakened plants are affected, it is necessary to strengthen their defenses. Modern methods include agrotechnical, biological and physico-chemical. Even the observance of simple and well-known rules helps. The introduction of organic fertilizers such as ash, compost, biohumus, supercompact,
post Piksa, will improve the soil. Ciderates - wand-zashchalochka, they heal the soil, make it loose. You just need to know a few rules for working with them. Ciderates mow down, and not chopped, the grass, before being embedded in the soil, it is necessary to dry. I sow the white mustards with white mustard at the end
August. The plant works as a phytosanitary, clearing the soil of diseases and pests, enriches it with organic substances. But after it you can not plant crucifers. And after the phacelia plant any plants.
To prevent diseases and treat plants use
    microbiological preparations.
In the garden, you can use hunting belts and pheromone traps, plant insecticides, repellent preparations (Sochva, Dachnik).

I’m not afraid of work, and as far as I can, I continue to work in the garden. It is small, but I tried to find a place for many cultures. I have currant bushes - both red and black. Grandchildren like to enjoy it ... True, this year's favorite menu was in danger: powdery mildew attacked the bushes. But I’m not like a bast - I applied all my knowledge in the fight against fungus.
In a 10-liter bucket, I bred a glass of baking soda and added a piece of grated laundry soap. Stirred until the soap is completely dissolved, filtered and sprayed bushes with this composition. After 3 days, the treatment was repeated, and then - as necessary.
That's so cheap, cheerful, and most importantly - I safely preserved the harvest of currants. There was something to feast on the granddaughters!

    Soda on powdery mildew
For several years I could not cope with the powdery mildew that attacked the gooseberry bushes.
Berries, you know, with such a disaster, once or twice and miscalculated. Salvation prompted a neighbor - soda with soap.
Before the beginning of flowering I sprinkle the gooseberry with a soap-soda solution. I prepare it this way: I plant a glass of soda and 25 g of household soap (rubbing on a grater) in 10 liters of water.
Subsequent spraying I spend with the appearance of berries and berries as necessary.
It should be said that the need arises in rainy weather - it is with damp powdery mildew that spreads rapidly. If it’s dry and hot in the yard, then I’m not zealous with spraying.

    Ashes and marigolds
I will share experience, how to get rid of aphids on apple trees and powdery mildew on the currant. Only planted apple trees in the garden, attacked aphids. Every Saturday I shoveled the ashes from the stove in the bath, then I sprayed apple and currant with water and immediately scattered ash to branches of trees and shrubs.
By the end of the month the aphids had disappeared, the currant was clean until the end of autumn. And ashes enriches the earth under potassium plants and other microelements, no need to make mineral fertilizers. Now about the cabbage. I have a clean cabbage for four years already, without larvae of cabbage, because between each four plants I plant marigolds. Butterflies do not fly above such beds, and to look at it is pleasant.
