    Stand for plates in eco-style))

I didn’t even think that eco-style using wood treated with stain is so cool and beautiful. In my cupboards with dishes I found plates to decorate the interior. I really like their shape and texture, but standard coasters just didn't work for them. I decided to make it myself, inspired by the strict Scandinavian style.
It took: 3 wooden parts 25 cm each (base or bottom of the box) 4 parts 29 cm each (crossbars) 4 wooden parts 12 cm high (side parts).
After assembling the bottom and walls of the box from wooden parts, I added one more crossbar on the wide sides. I fixed everything with Tybon glue. Any construction contact adhesive for wood, liquid nails or self-tapping screws are also suitable for these purposes. In order for the plates to stand upright and stable, I drilled six holes in the bottom of the box. I took measurements based on the size of the plates and their depth.

I had to tinker with the partitions inside my craft. At first I bought a handle for a shovel, but it turned out to be very thick and looked rough. Therefore, I chose furniture dowels for the crossbars. They are inexpensive, but durable and made of natural wood. I glued them inside the structure. I decorated the craft with decorative molding in the shape of tree leaves, which I glued to the top edges and center. I covered the entire workpiece with stain, dried it and placed the plates (see photo).

An ordinary enamel mug can decorate the kitchen!
We eliminate scuffs, chipped pieces of enamel from it. We paint with white enamel (better for heating radiators, in a day we start a new image of the mug.
To create a mosaic application, we select a suitable stencil, put thick cellophane on it. We first check if it wrinkles when the paint dries (if necessary, we take a denser one). Draw a stained glass outline around the lines of the drawing. We dry for a couple of hours, then fill it with multi-colored stained glass (or acrylic) paints of the mosaic sector. The contour should firmly and firmly "grow" with them. After drying, we check if the application will not tear when removed from the cellophane, you can apply a second layer.
We remove the application and carefully apply it to the mug: it sticks quite easily. If not, the work surface can be lightly sprayed with water from a spray bottle.

Salt shaker in 5 minutes with your own hands
In just a few minutes, you can make handy spice containers that you can take with you when going camping or on a picnic.
I put hot glue on a sheet of parchment to make a round with a diameter of about 3-3,5 cm (photo 1). From a plastic bottle with an elongated neck, I cut off the upper part (the neck itself) of a suitable length, about 10 cm (photo 2). I set it on a circle of glue and leave it for a couple of minutes (until the glue hardens). I cut off excess glue with scissors (photo 3). With a needle heated over a lighter, I pierce several holes in the lid, fill the resulting container. The salt shaker is ready. Such "jars" can be made several and in different colors or from transparent necks - you get a camping set for spices.

    Convenient do-it-yourself potholders

Comfortable and beautiful potholders will not only protect your hands from burns, but also become a decoration of the kitchen.
You will need: the main fabric - a dense fabric for the top (coarse calico, flannel, terry, denim or corduroy) interlining pile fabric (terry, flannel or fleece) 65 cm cotton bias tape 1 cm wide.
    1. We cut out the details according to the scheme. For the upper part - two, and for the bottom - one child. from the main and interlining fabrics.
We fold all the blanks in pairs and sew along the edge with a stitch or a zigzag seam (photo 1).
    2. We carry out, if desired, the applique and sew on the loop for hanging (photo 2)
    3. Fold the upper parts of the tack with the right side inward and grind along the upper cut. In places of bends, we cut out corners for better eversion.
    4. Turn out and iron the seam. Then we unfold the workpiece in the form of a rectangle and put it on the bottom part (inside out). We fix it with pins, align the cuts and grind along the perimeter.
    5. We process the finished potholder along the contour with an oblique inlay, having previously marked it and ironed it so that it takes the shape of the product (photo 3)

    DIY potholder with pockets "Heart"

This beautiful heart-shaped potholder will become an original and functional accessory in your kitchen.
It took: fabric (cotton, calico, satin, linen) of three colors, batting, tailor's scissors, pins.
    1. I cut out two parts of the base of the tack (see diagram on page 15) and four blanks for pockets with 0 cm seam allowances. I steamed the fabric with an iron.
    2. From the batting I cut out one part of the base and two parts for the pockets without allowances (photo 1).
    3. I folded the blanks in pairs with the wrong sides to each other, between them I laid batting. I chopped off the details with tailor's pins and quilted with a curly line on a typewriter.
    4. From the fabric of a single color I cut out at an angle of 45 degrees, a strip for edging with a width of 4 cm. I folded the edging of the edging towards the center and ironed it. I folded the workpiece in half lengthwise and with the resulting edging, framed the straight edges of the pockets (photo 2).
    5. According to the diagram, I combined the pockets with the heart and fixed the position with pins. She trimmed the slices with a facing around the entire perimeter of the tack (photo 3). The loop was made of fabric (it can be made of braid). I steamed the finished product through a damp cloth.

    DIY decoupage plates

The idea came up after watching the "Housing Question" program. I also decided to decorate my white gas stove cover with decoupage. I bought a sheet of rice paper with a drawing and set to work.
The size of the lid is 50 × 55 cm. I washed it thoroughly and degreased it with alcohol. I put the drawing face down on plastic wrap. I applied decoupage glue and gently attached the picture to the lid, the greased side. I smoothed out folds, air bubbles and excess glue, drove out with a rubber spatula. She carefully removed the tape. The size of my drawing is 35 × 45 cm. Therefore, after the glue dried, I finished painting the vase and the table with acrylics. Has dried. Covered the surface first with spray varnish from a spray can, and then with heat-resistant varnish. A small craquelure (cracks) appeared due to the chemical incompatibility of the heat-resistant varnish with acrylic paints and spray varnish. The updated plate cover is ready! The temperature test was successful!

    DIY hot stand "Bunnies"

In the kitchen of any hostess, hot coasters are not superfluous. You can make them from the most ordinary board and decorate using the techniques of brushing and decoupage.
    1. From a pine board 2 cm thick I cut a circle for a stand with a jigsaw. I burned the workpiece with a gas burner so that the top layer of wood turns black (photo 1). Then, with a metal brush, I "combed out" the wood in the direction of the grain. The result is a texture - a wood pattern.
    2. Covered the front side of the mug with white paint and, without waiting for it to dry, ran it along the surface in the direction of the fibers with an old plastic card, removing excess paint and highlighting the pattern (photo 2) Left to dry.
    3. The front side of the stand was decorated with decoupage. To do this, I separated the top layer of the napkin, put it face down on the file, sprinkled it with water from a spray bottle (photo 3). I attached the file to the wooden circle with a napkin inside. I ironed the top with a card to spread the napkin. Then she carefully removed the file and removed the excess napkin around the edges.
    4. Covered the paper drawing with acrylic varnish using a flat brush. Has dried. I applied a layer of varnish to the entire product.

    DIY rhinestone container

Baby food glass jars are universal. What is not stored in them: hostesses - spices and other bulk products, craftsmen - small carnations and screws, needlewomen - beads, beads, needles. You can list endlessly. I propose to make a nice container for cotton swabs from such a container and give the bathroom the chic of a spa salon.
    1. Carefully wash the jar and lid, degrease it with nail polish remover.
    2. Using polymer glue, we fix the strips of tape with rhinestones around the circumference (photo 1).
    3. Prime the lid of the can with gray acrylic paint. Dry. We glue pieces of the same tape to it from above in a spiral, starting to spread it from the center to the edges. We paint a large round bead gray, dry it and fix it on the lid (photo 2).
    4. We fill the container with chopsticks. Done!

    DIY spice organizer
In the kitchen of any housewife, there are always many bags with various spices. Such a convenient and beautiful box is useful for storing them. With him, all seasonings will always be in place. Due to its small size, the product fits perfectly into a kitchen cabinet or fits on a desktop.
I cut out parts from fiberboard (can be replaced with plywood, wood or thick cardboard) using a clerical knife. I glued them together with a thermal gun (for secure attachment, you can nail small nails in some places). I covered the surface of the box with white acrylic paint in two layers. Has dried. I glued a wooden chipboard (carved element) to the front. I painted it and the inner walls of the organizer in turquoise. Decorated the side parts with napkin decoupage. I covered the finished product with acrylic varnish.

    Stand under the hot hands

Together with the students, they figured out how to make practical hot coasters from old jeans and CDs. Such an activity develops fine motor skills well, knowledge of basic hand seams will be useful for children for the future, and a convenient stand will be a great surprise for mothers.

Two circles were cut out of jeans fabric along the diameter of the disk with an allowance of 1 cm at the edges. The fabric was glued to the disk on both sides using PVA (photo 1). Dried. A thick thread (yarn for knitting) of a contrasting color, hiding the knot inside the circles, sewed the edges with a buttonhole (photo 2). It is very important to maintain the height of the posts and the width between them. In this case, the disc serves not only as a solid base, but also as a limiter to the stitch height. Sewing the blank in a circle, sewed a loop and tied it with a buttonhole stitch.

    DIY kitchen trio

I bring to your attention a kitchen set for storing cutlery and spices.
A container for cutlery made from a can of coffee. I cleaned it from the remnants of the label and degreased it with acetone. I wrapped the container with twine around the middle, and used a heat gun to fix the thread.
Then I glued a strip of double-sided tape on the jar in diameter and wrapped it with green yarn. Then - again with twine almost to the very top and another strip of green yarn. The upper edge was decorated with a twine pigtail, and decorative acorns and a flower were glued to the sidewall.
I had a jar with a cap in the shape of a hat. I decided to use it to store spices. The jar was not wrapped so that it was visible what was stored in it, but the hat was decorated in the same way as the cutlery container, with twine, and decorated with artificial berries and a flower.
By the same principle, she designed a glass bottle, since there remained twine, yarn and decorative ornaments.
Recently, a friend came to visit, saw my kitchen trio, and she really liked it, so she made a similar set for her.

    DIY hot coasters
After finishing the kitchen apron, there was ceramic tile. She was waiting in the wings until she needed a hot stand.

Picked up four oak blocks with a cross section of 50 × 50 mm. In each in one of the faces I chose a full-length groove with a width equal to the thickness of the tile and a depth of 15 mm. I cut all the bars along the ends at an angle of 45 degrees, so that when assembling into a square frame, the tile fit tightly into the grooves of all the bars. I polished the wooden parts with fine sandpaper. I missed the grooves with glue

The moment and secured the bars on the edges of the tiles, clamped with clamps. At the joints at the corners, I drilled holes and inserted dowels into them, also having previously greased them with glue. On the lower edges of the bars I chose the recesses. The stand is ready, the wife decorated the tiles using decoupage technique (photo 1) A little later, in the same way, I made several more coasters for cups from smaller tiles (photo 2).

    DIY spaghetti

The surface degreased, sanded with fine sandpaper. From above I made a volumetric pattern through a stencil with a texture paste. Covered the workpiece with acrylic primer. Then, on decoupage glue, she fixed a motif with a plot on rice paper (sold in needlework stores).

The free surface was painted by hand. Covered with acrylic varnish. The lid was covered with antique gold aerosol paint, picked up a pen to it and secured it with a self-tapping screw (see photo). It turned out not only useful, but also a beautiful little thing.

    DIY heart grab
Cooking enthusiasts will appreciate a gift such as a tack. She sews very easily and even a novice craftswoman will cope with this work. And as an additional gift, inside the pot you can put small kitchen utensils or cards with recipes.
I drew a pattern on paper and cut it out. I carved 2 hearts and 2 halfhearts from fabric on it, from a synthetic winterizer - 1 heart and 2 halfhearts (photo 1).
I sewed fabric blanks in the form of a heart along the contour, laying a synthetic winterizer between them (photo 2).
Then he sewed a half-heart, having previously stitched a quilted synthetic winterizer to the inside of the parts, and fringed the open section with a slanting inlay (photo 3).
I framed the edges along the perimeter of the tack with an oblique edging, sewed a loop for hanging from the top. The gift is ready (photo 4).
If the synthetic winterizer is thin, you can cut 2-3 blanks and quilting them together. J

    DIY Cutlery Stand
RECENTLY I HAVE BROKEN THE ELECTRIC KETTLE. DO NOT RISE OUT THE HAND; IT IS MADE OF FOOD STAINLESS STEEL. THINKING A LONG TIME, GIVING HIM A SECOND LIFE, MAKING FROM THE HOUSING A STAND FOR CUTLERY.
    Preparation of parts
He unscrewed the bottom of the kettle and detached the lid and handle. I also unscrewed all the electrical elements from the stand (from which the kettle works).
I cut out three disks d 5, 70 and 95 mm from plywood 145 mm thick. In each, in the center, I drilled holes d 6 mm. Prepared sections for cutlery (photo 1): cut the bottles from the air freshener on top, and glued plastic threaded necks to the bottom with a heat gun. The covers from the latter were fixed similarly on the disk d 145 mm (photo 2).

    Assembly
At the end of an MB stud, 120 mm in length, screwed the nut, then threaded a d 70 mm disc onto it, on top of the stand and onto it - the kettle upside down (photo 3). All details are rigidly fixed by strung a d xNUMX mm disk on a hairpin and clamped with a nut.
Then he placed a disk with plugs inside the base, and screwed a tube d 10 mm 250 mm long with a plastic nut on the end onto the hairpin (photo 4)

I screwed previously prepared sections into corks and placed cutlery in them. The design turned out to be convenient and compact, in addition, it can be quickly disassembled and washed.

Tack from the corners of their own hands

Using the technique of the swing corners, you can sew an original tack, a pillow, a rug or a panel from cloth shreds.
Depending on the density of the fabric, I sew the corners in different ways:
From thin tissue, I cut out squares of about 6 × 6 cm. Each of them is folded diagonally inside out and ironed. I bend the resulting triangles in half and iron them again. If at the corner you need to show the vertical line of the joining of the sides, then first I bend the square in half horizontally inside out, and then fold it in the corner.
I cut the thick fabric into rectangles 4 × 6 cm in size. On one of the long sides I bend 0,7 cm to the wrong side, smooth and then turn the corners to the midline of the patch - the corner is hardly added. If the fabric does not crumble, I cut parts from it in the form of a semicircle with a diameter of 5-7 cm. Then I bend the sides to the midline, fold the workpiece in half and iron it - I get a corner in four additions.
Before sewing the corners, I prepare the basis of dense fabric in the form of a future product. To it I pin the corners, which can touch or enter each other, go one on another. Having laid the first row, I set it up, stepping back from the base of the 0,5-1, see. Then I sew the next row, arranging the corners in a staggered manner, relative to the previous ones, or one under the other. At the same time, I try to hide the line of the sewn row and do not forget to iron each layer well. I trim the edges and corners of the finished product with a slanting inlay, sew the lining from the inside.
Note Corners can be sewn in a circle, square or rectangle, corners to the center or away from it. From blanks of different colors, you can create patterns.

Tailored pins were attached to one blank by semicircular de т tals and secured them with a line, departing from the edge of mm 5 (photo 3)

Cut off the corners of a rectangular canvas on the folds. She cut the tablecloth around the perimeter with a hem. With the advent of the combine in the kitchen, the metal graters were relegated to the background and gathering dust in the cabinets. In order not to shift them endlessly from place to place, I made creative lighting above the table.
    ■ Terki washed and dried thoroughly. In the handle of each, drilled through the hole and fixed them cords with cartridges.

From a board with a cross section of 15 × 1,5 cm and slats with a cross section of 6 × 1,5 cm, I made a suspension box. I drilled in it along the middle the right number of holes for the wires. The latter together with shades (graters) led into the holes, connected in parallel and connected the free end of the wire to the wiring.

Box-suspension on ropes and screw-rings attached to the ceiling so that you can adjust the distance between the light and the table top.

    Spices on clothespins

Disassembled on the slats old wooden box. He cleaned the blanks with a brush with a metal pile, lightly burned it with a gas torch and cleaned it with sandpaper. He turned the product over to the other side and glued five clothespins to the plane at an equal distance from each other with a thermogun. Painted with stain, covered with a layer of colorless varnish on wood and screwed a spoon. The spice holder is ready (photo 1).

I put things in order on the site and saw a small twig with knots. In my head immediately ripened the idea of making a cup holder, which I had long wanted to buy.
The branch and knots on it were cut to the right size with a hacksaw.

I cleaned the workpiece from the bark and processed it with fine sandpaper. A double coat of colorless varnish was applied to the finished rack on wood with interlayer drying. From plywood 5 mm thick I cut a square blank 200 × 200 mm in size and screwed it with screws to the lower end of the rack. The result was a nice stand on which the beloved cups of the whole family fit.

    By the way
If you find a suitable branch, but there are not enough knots on it, do not get upset - they can "build up". From the sticks of a suitable diameter cut the right number of knots. Then in the base (branch), drill holes for them, grease the parts with PVA glue and put them into place.

Holder for instruments with own hands
To make knives, forks and spoons do not roll on the table, made of convenient and practical stand made of plexiglas.
Its height depends on the length of the blades of the knives. Two pieces of organic glass for stability bent at the base. He noted the bending place on the workpieces, then fixed the sheet between the two wooden slats with compressed clamps (it is possible in the vice), and he heated the building hair dryer at this point. After the plexiglass warmed up well, bent it at the right angle.
In the sheets, drilled two holes 67 mm and connected them with the help of pins and nuts. Connecting the workpieces, between them put on the pins washers, the thickness of which is slightly thicker than the blade of the knife.

Using a retractable cutting board, you can easily get out of the garbage without taking it off from work. It is enough to drill a round hole in the board itself, and from the bottom in the drawer to install a garbage container. By the way, from the drilled round billet it's easy to make a lid for a hole, screwing to it in the middle a wine stopper on the screw.

It took: the old coat bright scraps needle thread scissors.
I drew a sketch of the fish on paper. I cut out a stencil, according to which I cut out 2 pieces for each tack from the coat fabric. On the front side, a fish-like seam embroidered a fish's head, mouth and tail. To make scales for each fish, I cut 5 rectangles 2 × 2 cm, and 10 - 3 × 4 cm. I rounded the corners on one side of each element. Sweep them to the base, starting with the head. When the pattern took shape, I sewed each of the scales along the contour manually. Fold the top and bottom of the tack inside out. I sewed along the contour.
Fish-potholders withstand high temperatures and do not require frequent washing.

Over pasted motifs of napkins by the method of de-blending. She removed the tape from the windows. To avoid seeing the boundaries of the tissue motifs, toned them with a spray using a sponge. The windows along the edges were painted with acrylic contours.
Now all my cereals in beautiful jars, and through the window you can see at once where everything lies.

    Bottle in the ... tower
For bottles with vegetable oil, I made the original packing-case. If you need to get a container - I open the lid for the "spire".
A cardboard tube of a suitable diameter was cut off by the height of the bottle hangers. Whole plugs of champagne cut into small rectangles (see photo) They glued them with a thermo-pistol pipe, imitating a stone masonry. Cut out the apertures of the windows and pasted in them "glass" made of plastic. Attached the carved cork arches and window sills. The door was made of large matches (on glue), painted with stain, glued. Thick paper in several layers turned into a cone for the roof. The edges of her fixed glue Titan. Sealed the roof with leather, wrapping the allowances inside the workpiece. 8 as a spire on the roof stuck a match, put a cork on it. A convenient case was obtained.
