Adaptation for transplanting seedlings with your own hands
How to make transplants for transplantation
This device I use when transplanting seedlings, especially pumpkin: cucumber, squash, squash, etc.
They are very painful to transfer the transplant to a permanent place, and my adaptation makes it possible to preserve the maximum number of roots of seedlings, and, therefore, to increase survival rates.
Take the galvanized sheet thickness of 0,4-0,6 mm, make two cuttings (see the picture). Cutting the bend on the pipe and connect the two semicircles with the M4 bolt. We connect the upper part of the two halves with an arc, fastening it with a piece of the old belt so that it supports these halves and serves as a carrying handle. And everything, the adaptation is ready to work.
We prepare seedlings for planting in advance. Clamp the handle ("spring"), point the device at the transplanted seedlings and push it into the ground to the required depth. Then we release the handle ("spring"), which clamps the ground inside and holds well. To improve the process of removing soil, you can slightly twist the device along the imaginary axis of the plant. And now we bring the seedlings to a permanent place, hold the handle, and the seedlings sit in the prepared nest. Hands press the ground - and you're done.
This simple adaptation is easy to make, and it will become a good assistant in working in the garden and the garden.
