Wooden shower in the dacha with their own hands
There is nothing more beautiful than to start a hot summer day with a refreshing shower amidst the garden greenery! Best of all, a cabin of beautiful durable wood.
What could be better than a summer day out of town? The sun, working in your garden, grilling ... But it will be even more wonderful if you have the opportunity to quickly freshen up on hot days, taking only a couple of steps from the deck chair. To translate this into reality, you need a garden shower, for the construction of which you only need a hose connected to the water supply and a couple of hours of work.
We chose to build a larch board with a thickness of 2,7 cm. In total, for a back wall of 160 height and for an area of 90 depth, you need about 18 running meters of the floorboard. At boards (width 14 sm) from both parties the rippled surface. This will prevent the slide on the site.

In order for the shower structure to withstand more than one season, weather-resistant wood should be used for construction. A great option is larch wood.
Well, to keep the wood under the open sky for a long time kept the beauty, the water should quickly drain, then the tree can dry up. Therefore, there should be at least 5 mm gap between all joints of wooden parts.
The funnel-shaped excavation in the ground, filled with pebbles, will prevent the accumulation of water around the shower and ensure its rapid percolation into the ground

For the construction of a shower you will need
- Tools: a hammer, a cordless drill or a screwdriver, a jig saw, a milling cutter for round holes.
- Building materials: 18 running meters of the floorboard (larch) with a corrugated surface, 2 connecting angles for heavy structures, 8 fixing bolts (M 12) made of galvanized steel, 2 mounting brackets, nails, narrow racks, garden shower, pebbles if necessary, 2 hook with thread, non-stretch thin cable, 4 peg for tent.
Little Secrets
If you plan to use the shower often, it makes sense to make a funnel-shaped excavation under the platform and fill it with pebbles. So water will be better to seep, and around the shower does not form a puddle.
Although the shower has a rather massive and stable design, it should still be protected from strong gusts of wind, which sometimes happen. To do this, use tension cables that are attached to the sides of the rear wall and fixed in the ground with pegs to install the tent. Winter will be taken by the disassembled shower in the shed.

1. When constructing the rear wall and grid, insert spacers (9 mm) between larch boards 14 in width, fix with clamps and screw back to the two cross-members at the rear. For the grate, use three boards, sawn halfway through.
2. For a smooth rounding that adorns the back wall and the platform, drive in three nails - two on the side, one in the middle. A narrow rail laid on the middle and under the external nails forms the desired shape. Mark the line with a pencil.
3. Use a jigsaw to cut out the rounding by hand without a stop.
4. The edges should be ground and chamfered to reduce the risk of injury. The grinding machine to process the ends, so they will penetrate less moisture.
5. Cut a hole for the round holes (5 cm) for the hose in the center board of the back wall. Tip: use a nail or a drill to mark the starting point for the cutter.
6. Fasten the connecting angles for heavy structures with short fastening bolts made of galvanized steel. Corner to arrange so that the gap between the rear wall and the platform was equal to 5 mm.
7. Back the rear wall to the site. The gap between the corner and the platform will provide ventilation (structural protection of wood).
8. The bracket, which is also rounded, serves as a support for the shower rod. Cut out the hole for the hose with a milling cutter for round holes (d 5 mm), another hole for the rod is made with an 20-mm Forstner drill.
9. To have a shower rod support, it is first inserted into the bracket, and then into the grate. The hole in the grate is also made with the 20-mm Forstner drill.

Shower cabin ... from a coil with your own hands
Sometimes it is possible to find orphaned wooden spools from under the power cable. They come in a wide variety of diameters, and all of them can be used with great benefit on the farm. For example, coils with a diameter of 0,8-1,2 m are better suited for a shower cabin.
The reel cheeks are already 2/3 of the cabin: floor and ceiling. It is only necessary to disassemble the coil and sheathe the resulting structure with wall boards or, even better, siding, leaving an opening for the entrance to the cockpit. From precipitation, it is enough to cover the roof from above with a piece of roofing material or a banner, and install a water tank on top of it. The pipe extending from it is fed into the cab through a central opening in the ceiling.
Alternative uses for the coils are a bathroom or garden tool storage.
And if you don't disassemble the coil, but just put it on its side, you get an impromptu round table, at which you can drink tea in nature.
