If for the kitchen a usual moving table is chosen, it can easily be pushed into a corner if necessary, put it to a window or a wall. For a small kitchen, a dining table with small folding or sliding "wings" is suitable.
Such a table can be placed near the window. A prefix table fixed on one or two legs is good for its compact dimensions (60 x 60,70 x 70, 80 x 80 cm). The table can become a continuation of the window sill. The folding models have become widespread in small rooms. And of course, we must not forget about the lowest level - the socle space. So, for example, under the oven we organize an additional storage area - at the top of the box we add lids and baking molds, and in the bottom - frying pans and low pans.

DIY kitchen shelf with flowers
As an inheritance from my parents, we inherited a shelf-cabinet for shoes made of solid wood (photo 1), for a long time it served us faithfully. Recently, the furniture in the hallway was replaced and the cabinet did not fit into the interior. I did not throw it away, as the furniture is still strong. I took it to the dacha, updated it and now I use it for storing dishes.
Shelf-cabinet was processed from all sides and from the inside with sandpaper of medium and fine grit. Then I painted it with white acrylic paint barely a layer. After the coating had dried, I decorated the cabinet outside and inside with napkins using the decoupage technique, fixed everything with one layer of colorless varnish (photo 2). I found several cardboard boxes at the dacha, decorated them in the same way as the shelf (photo 3) and now I use them to store bulk products and bags with spices.
