Cover in the basement with your hands with a lifting mechanism
Recently manufactured new cover for home cellar, but because of the massive board it was too heavy. Opening it, had to put a lot of effort, especially the wife and children. I did not want to alter the shield, so I fixed it on my own by a simple hoist.
Production
In the storeroom was stored a new door spring with a kit for its fastening, decided to use this part as a basis. He sketched the design (see the figure on page 18) and set to work.
He chopped off the workpiece brackets with a chisel made of sheet metal 3 mm thick (figure 3, 6). Cleared the edges, drilled two holes d 6 mm around the edges and bent the ends so that the holes were opposite each other (photo 1, 2). In the detail, 6 marked and drilled four holes d 5 mm under the mounting screws.
Cut off the 8 thrust from the calibrated rod d 2 mm and welded it to the 3 bracket (see photo 2). From a metal tube d 12 mm cut off the workpiece of the second draft with the cross bars 4 and 5, cleared the edges, welded them into a common unit. Attached the brackets to the crossbeams.
Installation and operating principle of the lifting mechanism
The spring was screwed along the floor lag, and the 6 fastening bracket - to the longitudinal board of the cover of the underground (photo 3). Thrust 2 fixed in the spring insert with holes (photo 4)
When closing the lever assembly under the weight of the lid, the spring is raised. When someone opens the lid, the spring tends to return to its original position, thereby facilitating the lifting process.

As you know, laziness is the engine of progress
So I was too lazy to lift the rather heavy cellar hatch. In special clothes, this is normal, but in clean, especially in winter, and even when the car is nearby ... Very uncomfortable! There was an idea to use the old trunk stops 41x. First, we disassemble the decor. And we weld two amplifiers (or sometimes a sheet of metal played so that the transparent floor in supermarkets is not so scary). Weld ears for emphasis. I had to tinker with them. I drilled a bunch of holes, tried different angles. But the simplest and most faithful is to take the lower attachment point as high as possible and bring it 3-5 cm forward from the hinges.
The top point is marked simply by the length of the elongated stop. Add building insulation to the old polystyrene foam. We assemble the frame and return to the place the plywood pre-treated with varnish.

How to make a lid for a cellar without any hooks and the like, so as not to stumble over them? We take from the hood ZIL-130 / 131 the brackets on which it is mounted, we fasten it to the base of the floor and to the cover itself with bolts.
On the opposite side we fasten the hood lock, which was taken from the Moskvich-412 car. And also from the same "Muscovite" the hook was removed, which is mounted on the hood itself, we also screw it on the screws to the lid - we measure everything to close. I’ll clarify about the corner and the gadget welded to it - this is for opening the lock. At the final stage, we measure and drill a small hole in the lid and make an opener from a wire.
We insert the opener into the hole - it rests against the very welded nut, and the lock opens. Before opening the cellar lid, it is advisable to hold with your foot, because the springs are powerful!
On the cover itself, a laminate is laid without a substrate, fixed to adhesive-sealant and set to level with the floor.
