LIFHAKI FOR DACHI - ALL WITH YOUR OWN HANDS
Interestingly, what would say the famous self-taught inventor Ivan Kulibin, if he had the opportunity to get acquainted with the notions, which our tireless gardeners used and successfully used in their gardens? And in fact the overwhelming majority of these devices, indeed, greatly facilitate life and work, although they are collected in the literal sense of the word on their knees and, moreover, from any nonsense.
I, like most readers, live in a small town. We do not have large garden centers here, and there is no place to buy a quality tool. And if so, you have to cherish it (many of my friends use shovels, hoes and other improvised means, bought by their parents 40-50 years ago), and when it breaks, it feels like you have lost something dear and close. After all, the hand got used to him, and he lay in it like a glove. Yes, and all this was done, albeit without fanfare, but for glory.
Modern and advanced owners of six acres, in which the financial possibilities are much more, even though they replaced metal buckets and watering cans with plastic ones, began to actively use covering materials and installed polycarbonate greenhouses, but they only added flat-cutters and a fan rake to the range of their tools, which can be folded, which protects their “fingers” from damage during storage (and you won’t be surprised with such a rake).
But both the "old-regime" summer residents and the new gardeners - we all face in everyday life and working on the earth a huge amount of all sorts of, so to speak, inconveniences that we ourselves can get rid of - no, even the most dodgy producer of garden tools will never think of to solutions that can help us. So you have to include ingenuity, and the older you get, the more often you need to do this, because the forces somehow decrease. So I want to share a few of my ideas, the implementation of which requires sheer nonsense and short time. And I’ll build my story for the sake of clarity: I will first designate the hooks, and immediately give their solution. Well, I’ll start.
Problem. In search of a forgotten or lost small garden tool (and he always strives to jump out of sight) you walk tens and sometimes hundreds of meters.
Solution
Wrap the handles of such inventory with red tape so that it can be seen from afar, even in thick grass.
During harvesting of zucchini and cauliflower, I used the knives I used as a rule always (I repeat: always!) To stick them into the ground at the ends of the beds before letting them go. And they stick out there for me until the end of the season.
In the greenhouse right up to the onset of cold weather I have scissors for trimming foliage and stepsons on an S-shaped hook bent from wire. And one more - on a tree knot near the flower garden.
In the same place, in a greenhouse, on another similar hook, I constantly hang a dipper for breeding liquid dressings and a sieve for a sprayer.
Problem. Many summer residents, having bought a long hose for their garden needs (usually less than 20 m, have nothing to think about) and connecting it to the dacha water supply system or pump in the well, then drag it around the whole site, going even to greenhouses. You jump with such an intestine all day, and in the evening you are not standing on your feet for fatigue.

Solution
Now on sale appeared plastic accessories for garden plumbing, designed for full "dummies." For example, with the help of simple tees, you can easily make bends in the greenhouse, and cabbage beds, and in the flower garden. In short, where your heart desires. I personally have on the site 7 layings from the main highway, so water is supplied to all, even the most distant corners (photo 1).
With the help of threaded connectors you can connect hoses of different diameter and material (photo 2).
In order to cover as much of the area as possible with water during irrigation, I put a wrench with a threaded connection at the end of the hose (photo 3).
If there is no threaded connection, it is necessary to use automotive metal clips for connecting the hoses (photo 4).
To build a hose or water mains I buy the cheapest plastic pipes. Here the calculation is this: you take them in length, a multiple of 1 m, and ask right in the store to cut them into pieces of the right size. Sellers usually do not refuse assistance. Well, then a piece of corrugated tube should be put on the rubber hose to prevent the hose from breaking at the turn. But this operation is the most difficult for any woman. I adapted to do it as follows.
I pour oil from technical grease onto metal, and drop the end of the hose into boiling water, which I bring from the house in a thermos. I wait a few minutes, pull out the heated hose and, without hesitation, put it on a greased metal tube, then fix it with a metal latch (photo 5).
To screw a screw on it, I bought a universal screwdriver (photo 6). In fact, the whole procedure takes half the time than what I spent on its description. And it is carried out easily, literally in two counts. By the way, with the help of the same grease fitting, I always lubricate all the locks after the winter - both mortise, and overhead, and padlocks - so that they do not rust and do not get stuck. And in winter I don’t leave all the plastic parts of the garden water supply in the open air: I take apart the system and lower it into the vegetable pit until spring.
Problem. Until now, in the greenhouses for cucumbers, gardeners are busy with pulling cords for garters of lashes in several layers, which are removed in the autumn. And so every year.
Decision. Now on sale there is a grid for climbers with cells of the most convenient size for any garden matters: a hand passes them. It is inexpensive, not a deficit. It is only necessary to take the roll, carefully unwind it and put on the top edge (by pinching every meter) on the tensioned cord or wire. Keep in mind that the indicated roll length will actually be longer. For example, 2,5 m was written on my package, but the grid stretched across the entire length of the greenhouse on 4 m. I attached the bottom edge of the grid to the ground 10 with metal pegs bought in the same store (photo 7) and worthwhile trifles. Scourge cucumbers sent originally on this trellis using plastic clips (photo 8). Such a grid can be used for growing beans, clematis and other climbers.

Problem. We have to constantly sign boxes and jars of seedlings, and the inscriptions are still erased.
Decision. I stick pieces of masking tape on the container with plants, and I write the inscriptions on it (photo 9).
Problem. How quickly and conveniently to cut into the strips of the desired length of old carpet products, to make them between the rows between the beds-boxes?
After all, I still use pieces of old linoleum (I put them between the rows of raspberries and under the pipes of the conduit, nailing them to the ground again with old nails), and with a thick cardboard in the spring I warm the corners and the north side of the greenhouse. And all this is also necessary to cut out.
Decision. Many summer residents use large tailor scissors for this, but to do such work with them is a real punishment. It is much easier to use an ordinary construction knife (photo 10), which cuts materials such as oil.
Problem. During the season constantly have to dissolve in the water chemicals for spraying and watering. And how to measure their desired volume?
Decision. I use a measuring cup. For convenience on divisions: 0,2 L, 0,25 L, 0,5 L and 1 L dotted with bright nail polish.
Problem. When caring for seedlings in the house need a small amount of chemical solutions. How not to be mistaken?
Decision. I water the seedlings with a solution of ammonia, which I prepare at the rate of 2 Art. l (30 ml) to 10 l of water. To prepare 1 l of this solution, use a medical syringe (3 ml per 1 l of water). With the same syringe I water the petunia shoots.
Problem. In summer, while working in the garden, I constantly put on a hat to protect my face, ears and neck from the sun. One trouble - from direct sunlight, it quickly deformed and lost its appearance.
Decision. She covered it with paint that remained after painting the garden house: the hat dried out and took on the desired shape.
Problem. Water in our gardening is pumped centrally from the river on certain days and hours. How not to miss the "wet" time?
Decision. To keep an eye on him, I hung a large battery-powered wall clock on the front of the house.

Problem. Collection and transportation of ripe berries with minimal losses.
Decision. I use plastic buckets with lids, which are sold in the departments of disposable tableware. I collect delicate berries (for example, raspberries, honeysuckle, wild strawberries) in liter, and other crops - in three-liter buckets. I close the lids and put on a trolley or in a backpack in several floors. The fruits do not crumple.
That's all mine, as the current Internet generation says, lifhakithat slang means the tricks of life, popular wisdom, or simply useful tips that help solve everyday problems, thereby saving time. I would be glad if they are useful to someone. I, for example, liked the proposal to use a disposable fork with two teeth to support the berries of garden strawberries in the garden.

I have an old refrigerator in my dacha, but it serves properly, because I take proper care of it.
In the spring, returning to the dacha, I move the refrigerator away from the wall, remove the cobwebs, wash the floor and let both the device itself and the place in which it stood to dry out. Then, with a slightly damp soft brush (brush), I sweep the dust from the coil, which is located at the back of the refrigerator. I thoroughly wipe all surfaces, both inside and outside. To get rid of the unpleasant smell, I wash the refrigerator inside with soapy water (1-2 tablespoons of dishwashing detergent for 2 liters of water). I dry it open, put on each shelf a saucer with 0,5 tbsp. coarse salt and turn on the device. After 12 hours, I remove the salt and fill the refrigerator with food.
The next stage of the dacha de-conservation is the revision of the first-aid kit.
All last year's medicines, including iodine, hydrogen peroxide and brilliant green, I send to the first-aid kit for plants. One can no longer be sure of their effectiveness, since in winter the dacha was not heated and the preparations froze and thawed several times. Be sure to fill the first aid kit with all the necessary medicines. I put cotton wool, bandages, brilliant green, ammonia and other means for first aid.

On my first spring visit to the site, I spread poison for rats and mice around the house, attic and cellar. By the time I’m going to move to my dacha, all the rodents are dead.
EVGENIA PAVLYUKOVA, G. KYIV:

First of all, when I get to the dacha, I thoroughly sweep all the premises. I do this exclusively with gloves so that the remains of mouse droppings do not get on the skin. Then I spray all surfaces with A-Par antiparasitic spray. It perfectly disinfects and removes unpleasant odors.
In addition, I buy a pack of the cheapest black tea bags without additives. I spread tea bags all over the house and leave them for a day. They absorb damp odors and other unpleasant odors. Then I collect them and throw them away.

If the tape breaks
If the tape does not come off the reel with a solid strip and breaks, put it on the 10 seconds in the microwave - the adhesive will soften and the strip will gently peel off.

The secret of tender meat
When baking meat in the oven, I water it only with hot water, because it becomes hard from cold. And before you warm up yesterday's meat, sprinkle it with cold water, put it in a frying pan with a piece of butter, cover with lid and heat it over a minimum heat. Meat is obtained as freshly prepared.

Need to refresh a blouse made of natural fabric and give it an elegant look? Take advantage of my advice. I mix starch, talc and borax (5: 3: 1), I grow in a small amount of cold water. And then with a napkin I apply the solution on the blouse and iron it with an iron. It is under the influence of heat that the thing acquires an elegant shine.

Brush - in ... a package
If painting work started today can be completed only tomorrow, then I do so. In a juice bag from two opposite sides, I make T-shaped cuts, and in the lid there is a hole for the brush handle. I open the package along the cuts, put the brush inside, put the lid on the handle and screw it up. At the bottom of the package you can pour a little solvent.
