    Planting seedlings in winter
Seedlings can be planted not only in spring but also in winter. Before the frosts we dig up stock in the garden. Cut the roots on 1 / 3 and trunks up to 10 cm, put them in the cellar and sprinkle them with wet sand. The cut on the trunk is treated with potassium permanganate.
With the advent of frost, we cut the cuttings with 2-3 kidneys (the upper cut is 1 cm higher than the kidney) for inoculation and store them in the sand cellar too. In winter, we bring stocks into the house and place them for 2-3 days in wet sawdust. Keep the cuttings warm (preferably in a container of water) 1 day.
Then at the ends of the cuttings and on the stock we make slanting cuts and split them to a depth of 3, see. It turns out something like reeds. Sections of the rootstock and the scion are joined, clasping the tongues, and wrapped with "threads" of natural bast.

Saplings laid under an inclination in the boxes and fall asleep with wet sawdust. We leave the house at 2-3 for a week, and then we take it to the cellar. In the spring we plant seedlings in the garden. Tying off in a month.
