A seedling on sfagnum and sugara - an experiment and its results
MOSS AND SUGAR - FOR THE BENEFIT OF RASSAD
In the spring of this year, I conducted two experiments with growing seedlings. I was satisfied with the results: I received such plants of tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants I dreamed of.
SFHAGNUM IN COMPOSITION OF SOIL
Recently, the interest of gardeners and gardeners to this plant has increased significantly. People call it white moss, although in some places of growth its color can be reddish and even violet.
The stem of sphagnum is erect, it multiplies with seeds that ripen in boxes. This moss can be found in acidic swampy areas, on high-moor peatlands, where it forms a solid carpet. Often, adjacent to cranberries and blueberries.
The plant has hygroscopicity and strong bactericidal activity. It was because of this ability that it was used, especially during military battles, as a dressing for healing wounds. Another area of application of this moss is construction: for a long time this sealant has been laid between the logs, which is also a natural antiseptic.
Council
Sphagnum can be used to store vegetables and fruits in the basement. Just pour moss apples, pears, carrots, beets. Thereby it is possible to get rid of damage and rotting of these fruits.
And so I decided to try sphagnum as a component of the soil mixture when growing seedlings. But as it turned out, the dosage is very important. In tanks where the soil and moss were in the ratio 1: 1, the seedlings were depressed. But with a small amount of moss, it has grown in quality.
As a result, I came to the conclusion that just one sprig of sphagnum (5-10% in the total volume of the soil mixture) is placed on the bottom of a jar or a nursery box, and the seedlings are strong and healthy.

"DOLCE VITA" FOR SEEDLING
Carbohydrates are indispensable food for representatives of the animal world. Insects prefer flowers with sweet nectar, and they are often attracted to pollinate sprayed with a solution of sugar or honey. Birds love sweet berries, and for protection from their raids on cherries, cherries and especially mulberries have to be laid nets on trees.
But many plants feel good on soil rich in carbohydrates. It is noticed that if birch or maple sap falls on the ground during its harvesting, the grass in such places is characterized by good growth. There is also evidence that sugar loves indoor plants.
I have my own observations. I will give an interesting fact. In our area in 1970-80-ies was the famous tea "At the ficus." Inside grew truly gigantic ficuses and Chinese roses with the same growth, constantly blooming. What was the secret of such “gigantism”? I believe that the whole thing was that the visitors of this pub managed to pour out the remnants of tea under the plants and there also shake off the ashes from cigarettes. It is known that ash enriches the soil with potassium and lowers its acidity. But sweet tea served as a good feeding.
I decided to check it out on seedlings. In cups of sour cream with a capacity of 0,5 l on top of the soil poured 1 tsp. Sahara. Then watered on top and planted after picking plants of tomatoes, peppers and eggplants.
After 2 weeks poured them through pallets, dissolving in 5 l of water 1 Art. l Sahara. And April 8 in the same way made watering fresh birch sap.
4 of the day passed, and the plants were transformed: they increased in growth, became stronger and more stocky. Later they gave a wonderful harvest. So the "sweet life" went to their advantage.

Seedlings require nutrition, like adult plants.
I feed young tomatoes 10 days after emergence. I use complex fertilizers "Fertika Lux" or "Mortar" -1 tsp. on 5 l of water. I feed after watering every 5-7 days. Before 3 true leaves appear, I give 2 tsp. liquid dressing per plant. When 6 leaves appear - half a glass.
Once every two weeks I water the tomatoes with an infusion of ash (1 st. L. On 1 l of boiling water, stand for 10 hours, drain).
I spend extra root-dressing of seedlings every 15 days: 1 tsp. superphosphate pour 1 l of boiling water, insist day, stirring regularly, filter and spray seedlings.
If it grows slowly, has pale leaves, bring the seedlings to life with this solution: 1 Art. l urea on 10 l of water, half a glass per plant. Or I use tea infusion tea infusion (1 pour a glass of raw material with 3 l of hot water, insist 5 days, filter and water).
And if the tomato seedlings stretch out, stop watering for 5-7 days, and then feed them with a solution of superphosphate (2 Art. L. For 10 l of water).
I seed the pepper seedlings for the first time after the 1-2 real leaves appear: in 1 l of water I dilute 0,5 g of ammonium nitrate, 3 g of superphosphate, 1 g of potash fertilizers. I spend the second dressing through 2 weeks with the same solution, but I increase the dose of each fertilizer by 2 times. I spend the last dressing before planting in the ground, increasing the amount of potash fertilizer to 8 g by 1 l of water.
